Liability & Traceability

Malaysia on its part on a national level has set up stringent mechanisms to identify and classify waste into different categories.

Identifying Hazardous Waste   The Basel Convention and The Paris Agreement was intended to address the increasing global threat of environmental pollution and climate change. These agreements aim to, among other things, prevent hazardous waste from being illegally dumped across borders and reduce the release of green house gases, respectively.

The international guidelines and agreements therefore necessitates proper recycling systems, better regulations and less exploitation of raw material.

Malaysia, on a national level has set up stringent mechanisms to identify and classify waste into different categories; namely non-hazardous waste or hazardous waste (also known as scheduled waste) and is committed to fight climate change by reducing green house gases.
Treatment of such waste is done in an approved facility after an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is conducted on the site and the process.

JTS successfully completed the EIA in 1995, becoming Malaysia’s first approved aluminium dross recycling facility. JTS Engineering is working towards a cradle-to-cradle recycling process.

We are dedicated to ensuring that your environmental liabilities are always addressed adequately via our processes. We have also implemented technologies in our system to reduce overall green house gases when handling our customers products.

JTS is armed with licenses for all our systems, transportation of waste, and for handling and processing aluminium dross.

To ensure traceability, JTS uses Electronic Scheduled Waste Information System (eSWIS) to ensure that once waste has left your premises, it is consistently tracked, both on a national and a corporate level to ensure that the waste is accounted for at all times. JTS also keeps hard copies and manual documentation in the form of Consignment Notes as back-ups.

At JTS we value our customers’ needs and strive to provide the highest quality standards for their waste treatment. When carrying out tolling services, a total recovery report (break down of waste recovery) and an analysis report detailing base metal SOWS purity is provided for our customers respectively.

This is in line with JTS’ policy of providing a sense of security and assurance by ensuring complete transparency with our customers in our handling of waste products.
